Ongoing monthly series broadcast on the first Friday each month. This series is online only
In the 600+ pages of the Autobiography of a Yogi, Yogananda shares stories and references dozens of, if not over a hundred, saints of various traditions from the east and the west. Story after story, he inspires the reader, opens their hearts, and imbues them with a passionate love for God.
Saints are emissaries of God's love who walk amongst us to draw our hearts upwards in devotion.
In this ongoing web series, we will examine the life and teachings of the various saints that Yogananda shares with us. Each month we will take one saint and tune into the essence of their teachings and their love of God.
In April, we will discuss the life of Therese Neumann, the Catholic stigmatist, and mystic who lived in rural Germany in the early part of the 20th century. Yogananda made a special pilgrimage to see this saint in 1935 and documented her experience of reliving the passion of Christ and suffering the stigmata in detail.
Therese's life is extremely well documented through many first-hand testimonials and photo and video recordings. She was a living testimony to the power of living by the grace of God.
This day, April 7th, being Good Friday, is a particularly auspicious day of the year to begin this series with Therese, as each year, on this day, she lived through the most intense passion of the stigmata and felt closest to Christ.
This series is online only. You can watch it online at the specified time or the recording later.
