Fire ceremony and meditation 9am
Sunday service 10-11:30 am
Service with special guests Pranaba and Erin from Ananda village. Services at Ananda are joyful, music-filled, and thoughtful. They explore meaningful answers to challenging questions about life. There is often laughter, and sometimes heartfelt tears.
Service is inspired by the spiritual teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda (Autobiography of a Yogi) and his lifelong disciple, Swami Kriyananda. It begins with a short period of chanting and meditation, followed by readings from the Bhagavad Gita and Bible, a 30-minute sermon, and a ceremony afterward, called the Festival of Light.
Nayaswamis Pranaba is one of Ananda’s most widely traveled and experienced ministers. He, along with his wife Parvati, helped to create and direct Ananda centers in Palo Alto, Portland, Seattle, Dallas, and Assisi, Italy. Pranaba has directed the membership training program at Ananda Village and has coordinated Ananda's Meditation Centers and Groups. He now manages Ananda Sangha Worldwide, Ananda's outreach ministry. An excellent teacher, he is known for his unfailing kindness and gentle approach.
Erin Vinacco lives and serves at Ananda Village as the director of fund raising for Ananda Worldwide. She is a certified Education for Life (EFL) teacher, Ananda minister, certified yoga teacher and long-time educator. She loves to find new, creative ways to share the teachings and support people of all ages in achieving their highest potential in life.
