Come join us for an evening celebrating Shiva, the Lord of Yogis and the Dissolver of Delusion.
Shivaratri is an annual celebration where devotees offer love and devotion to Shiva - one of the most beloved forms of the Infinite in India. Shiva is Representing the dissolving quality of AUM, He is that part of God's consciousness which helps draw us back home into cosmic consciousness.
This special evening program will include:
Powerful group chanting and music to take us into meditation
Storytelling exploring the deeper meaning and significance of sacred symbols, including the origin of the popular Maha mrityunjaya mantra
Mantra chanting for purification and fire ceremony
Opportunity to make offerings to shiva lingam and personal prayer
Longer periods of meditation later in the evening for those that would like to stay and dive inwards
The program from 7 to 9pm will include stories, chants, mantras and puja ceremony. The second half of the evening will include occasional chanting and longer periods of meditation. Participants are welcome to stay till midnight or leave at anytime.
The main aarti will take place around 8:20pm and special puja dinner served right after. Partaking in “prasad” or sacred food offering is a special blessing of an occasion like this. No cost for dinner - all are welcome
