March 13: The Bhagavad Gita
The Bhagavad Gita (the Song of God) is an ancient Hindu scripture excerpted from the Mahabharata, the longest epic in the world. It is sometimes referred to as the Hindu Bible, as it is by far the most popular and well-known Hindu scripture. Chronicling a conversation that takes place between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, a truth-seeker, on the battle of Kurukshetra, the Gita is an allegory for the battle each soul must fight on its way to ultimate freedom.
In this 4-week course, explore Yogananda’s interpretation of four major scriptural texts: Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, The Bhagavad Gita, The Bible and The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.
Cost: $60 for 4-week series or $15/class
