Saturday retreat, 10am-12:30pm • Biraj (in-person only)
Lahiri Mahasaya’s Purana Purusha is, in its essence, a humble devotee’s vulnerable and transparent writings about his own experiments in sadhana. In Lahiri’s diaries—from 1871 through 1874—quoted (in bold) throughout this little-known book, we watch Lahiri using the very same techniques we all learn on our path of Kriya Yoga.
At the same time, we listen in on what he perceived as he went deeper and deeper into each one of those techniques. Without any pride, without any flashiness, he simply recorded entries in his diary as if he were a mere scribe.
“When I did that technique today, this is what happened to me.” His journal entries read like a scientist carefully observing the spiritual path in action. But from those entries, we get to witness Lahiri discovering step by step the depths of what’s possible from the methods the great Babaji had taught him.
This class is about finding out what they say is waiting for us, too.
Fee $30 (Contributing members of Ananda are welcome to join the class in-person free of cost)
