Dinner 6pm, Program 7pm, Aarti 8:30pm
Janmashtami is the annual celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna.
Krishna is a divine incarnation that walked amongst us. His flute songs by the banks of the Jamuna river called devotees away from worldly pursuits to the divine search within.
We will begin the evening at 6pm with Prasad (sacred food offering) serving in the Yoga studio.
This program at 7pm will be divided into three sections as we journey through Krishna's life in three phases - first as the young playful cowherd, then as the beloved of the Gopis, and finally as the supreme Guru guiding Arjuna during the battle of Mahabharata.
Our journey will begin on the banks of Jamuna in Brindavan leading up to the battlefield in Kurukshetra where he presented the magnum opus, Bhagavad gita.
Through chants, stories, songs and meditations we will tune into Krishna's love and wisdom, and his presence amongst us even today.
The evening will end with a grand aarti and sharing of prasad (blessed food offered at the altar).
Guided by Saiganesh and others
