Saturday morning retreat, offered in-person at the temple or over zoom
In his book "The Hindu Way of Awakening" Swami Kriyananda states, " the Indian mind, having established itself firmly in the belief in a transcendental reality, is completely comfortable with an exuberance in its expression of images and allegories"
The myths and symbols of Indian culture can be endlessly complex. And in their rich imagery present glimpses of a transcendental reality that cannot be cognized by the rational mind.
In this morning retreat, we will immerse into this glorious tradition of Sanatan dharma by exploring some common myths and symbols from India. The objective is not a comprehensive survey of the Indian religion, but just a taste of its richness and depth.
The morning will include storytelling from Indian mythology, discussion on religious symbols, devotional chanting, a fire ceremony, aarti (festival of light) and prasad offering at the end.
Come, and immerse yourself in the spiritual heart of India! (best experienced in person. Zoom link available for those that cannot make it)
Fee $30, This program is free to attend for contributing members of Ananda Palo Alto
