"I have a Love Who’s far away,

Far away, far away;

I have a Love Who’s far away,

Farther away than the stars."

Paramhansa Yogananda taught that God can be approached as the Heavenly Father or the Divine Mother. He preferred the Divine Mother because "the Mother is closer than the Father". As a child, he worshipped the Divine Mother in the form of the Goddess Kali, and he felt that She would answer his every prayer.

At times, we may feel that God is distant from our hearts, yet Yogananda said She is "the Nearest of the near, and the Dearest of the dear". The key to bringing Divine Mother out of hiding is through devotion, which can be expressed deeply through music. Ananda's music is notable for it's devotional and spiritually uplifting quality, and much of it is dedicated to the worship of the Divine Mother.

There is a deep need for God's feminine aspect in today's world. Divine Mother's qualities of compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love are the final cure for the suffering that dwells in the hearts and minds of mankind. If we invite Divine Mother into our lives, we too can be channels of Her grace.

Please join Prashad for a morning of songs and stories woven together in dedication to the Divine Mother.

*He will explore a range of Swami Kriyananda's musical works, including selections inspired by the lives of Yogananda and Christ. Devotional chanting will be a program highlight, including traditional Bengali chants sung by Yogananda and Kriyananda.

*Stories will be drawn from the lives of Yogananda, Kriyananda, and Prashad's personal anecdotes.
